Blown Call Leads to the Loss

by @ 7:21 pm. Filed under 2008 Phillies

I’m not one for blaming umps for a game, but last night was a different story.  In the 6th inning, Mark DeRosa hit what the umpires called a solo homerun off of Brett Myers.  Further replay showed that the ball was clearly foul.  The homerun should have never counted, meaning that the Cubs would have had one less run and the game would have never gone into extra innings, and the Phillies would have won.

Charlie Manuel got ejected arguing that the ball was foul.  He has a great argument.  Expect this to come back if we finish a game out of first or the wild card in what should be some extremely close races this year.
