Now that all the talk about the Cubs is going to go away, we can now start talking about the Phillies 28 year drought which will hopefully end this year. Jamie Moyer and the Phillies offense couldn’t quite seal the deal last night, but with a rested Joe Blanton, you have to hope that the Phillies can move on and get the NLCS started against the Dodgers next week. Game time is right about now.
My guess is, Chase Utley is the guy who gets it going. He picked up just his second hit of the series yesterday, and while he probably won’t get the MVP consideration he deserves, it’d be nice if he could help the Phillies lock things up this afternoon. While I like Cole Hamels chances, I really don’t want to see C.C. Sabathia get another chance because as far as the playoffs are concerned, he really is due. Plus it’d be nice to have Hamels ready and able to throw in game one of the NLCS as opposed to burning him in a winner take all game five.
I also want to give a shout out to anyone looking for baseball equipment. My son is a little league catcher and finding catchers gear is near impossible at your run of the mill store. I finally found an excellent selection at Baseball Rampage, which had a huge selection of catchers equipment. The guy I talked to on the phone was also extremely helpful. I just wished I lived closer to Columbus because their retail store looks like a very cool place to check out in person.
