Hitting Woes

by @ 12:31 am. Filed under 2008 Phillies

The Phillies lost today to the Reds while managing only 1 run.  The bad part is that Shane Victorino was the only regular starter left out of the lineup, and Rollins, Utley, and Howard played the whole game.

The pitching woes continued with Phillies pitchers giving up 3 more home runs.  Travis Blackley is still fighting for a spot in the rotation.  While he did strike out 5 in 3 innings, he gave up a 2-run home run, and walked 2 batters.  What we really need to have happen is have some guys string together a few good innings without letting one get away from them.
