The Phillies lost to the Los Angeles Angels last night 6-2 to run their losing streak to 4. Once again the offense was shut down getting only 5 hits. Jayson Werth homered and Pedro Feliz drove in Chris Coste in the 7th inning to tie the game at 2. The Angels then scored 2 runs off of starter Brett Myers in the 8th before he was pulled, and another 2 off of Chad Durbin in the 9th inning. Myers was terrorized by the long ball giving up three in the game. He is now 3-9 with an ERA of 5.51. So much for him being an “ace as a #2.”
One good thing is that Chase Utley’s average did not go down any in the game…Eric Bruntlett got the start at 2nd and Geoff Jenkins actually pinch hit for him in the 9th. This does not bode well for the what was unanimous All-Star.
