Shut Down, and Shut Out

by @ 8:00 pm. Filed under 2008 Phillies

The Cardinals were able to completely dismantle the Phillies offense last night as they shut them out for the win.  Cole Hamels picked up the loss but pitched wonderfully.  He only gave up 3 hits in 7 innings.  2 of those hits were solo homeruns giving the Cardinals a 2-0 victory.

Joel Pineiro got the win in what is the Phillies 4th straight loss.  Hopefully they can pick things up and end the first half strong before the All-Star break.  The Phillies got just 6 hits in the whole game.  That does not lead to success.

On the trade rumor note; Erik Bedard has had his name thrown around a lot here in Philly.  He even did a radio interview with a local station.  Check out the interview here.  Wouldn’t mind getting him as our #2 and getting rid of Myers or Eaton all together.
