Throw out the Throw Backs

So far in today’s game, the Phillies have committed 4 errors!  Jamie Moyer gave up 5 runs in the top of the first, but only 3 were earned thanks to 2 fielding errors.  Jimmy Rollins (Gold Glove winner Jimmy Rollins) committed yet another error.

The 6th inning has had 2 great defensive plays though.  Geoff Jenkins made a spectacular diving catch in right on Nats pitcher Bergmann to record Rudy Seanez’s first out as a Phillie.  Chris Coste, who hit a home run in the first pitch he saw this season, made a great play on a swinging bunt by Guzman on the very next play.  He jumped on the ball on the third baseline and was able to fire to first and nail Guzman thanks to a great stretch by Howard.

It’s now the bottom of the 6th, and Burrell just drove in Chase Utley to make the game 2-6.  Burrell’s single is the 3rd straight single of the inning.  All 4 batters have hit the ball very hard off of Bergmann this inning.

Will update as game goes on
